One of the activity offered at Toucheng Leisure Farm is the making of your very own heavenly lanterns. The teachers will first teach how to fold and combine 4 pieces of light weight, thin and transparent paper into a lantern ( and it also biodegradable! mean will not pollute the environment once the flame dies off!).
After your lantern take into it form, it time to write your message on each surface of the lantern.
Once all the 4 surfaces are written, the lantern is ready to float up to the sky or you can say heaven. After all the name is Heavenly Lantern.
A round bamboo structure with a bunch of paper in the middle is attached below the lantern. This serve like a hot air balloon concept where by the hot air will make the lantern to float up.
