Trip down to Yunlin & Tainan

Last week I made a trip down to Yunlin and Tainan. Yunlin is known for Taiwan's local grown coffee while Tainan is the the birth place of Taiwan (where it all started).

Hua Shan (Hua Mountain), Gukeng in Yunlin County is a coffee growing region in Taiwan and is well known. The coffee grown in Gukeng has a slightly sour and bitter taste but sweetens as it enter the mouth, giving the Taiwan coffee its unique flavor. Many locals grab this opportunity  to open cafes and shops selling coffee, coffee biscuits and souvenirs.

Huwei, Yunlin is famously known for it puppet making and towel making.  There an old puppet musuem in Huwei Township, where they display many puppets used to broadcast in a television. Beside, there a towel making factory which they open part of it for visitors to see how they manufacture towel and fold them into cute shapes.

Anping was formerly colonized by the Dutch, where in 1624 the Dutch built the first fort in Anping, Taiwan, called "Fort Zeelandia", also known as Anping Fort.  The fort  has been the administrative center of the Dutch regime, and the hub for trading. Anping is an old town fill with historical sites. Nationalities such as the Dutch, the Chinese mainlands and the Japanese had all set foot on Anping, thus such a diverse history and culture.

Besides that, Tainan City also have it own share of historical sites.
