Kumquat Jam Making Day!

Yesterday i was allocated to help making kumquat jam in DIY section. My colleagues told me that kumquat can manufacturing into plenty types of product such as kumquat vinegar, kumquat juice and kumquat jam, and we were making kumquat jam. The way of making kumquat jam is very simple, what we need is just kumquats, malt sugars, and a blender.

First is to cut off the steam and leaves if the kumquat is freshly picked.

After collected the amount of kumquat u need, use a knife to cut the kumquats into halves.

Next is to remove the seeds by squeezing the kumquats, and the seeds will come out easily. Separate the seeds by taking out the pulps and peels. The reason we that we get rid of the seeds is because the seeds are bitter in taste.

Pour the left over kumquat juice, peels and pulps into a blender.

Add some water until it covers the pulps.

Blend all the ingredients into juice and granules.

Pour the kumquat juice into a steel pot after blending.

Add in sugar and malt sugar, the ratio is 7.5 catty of sugar: 5 catty of malt sugar, and mix it all together with the kumquat juice.

Boil it with high heat and stirring constantly to avoid the bottom burnt. Turn to medium or low heat when it starts to spill over.

Simmer it with low heat and boiled up to 20 minutes, and stirring constantly until the kumquat jam becoming translucent.

Leave to cool before put into container, and keep in chiller while not using. Done and enjoy the delicious kumquat jam! The kumquat jam is suitable for salad or serve with bread.
