Quentin & Laetitia's Weekly Recap pt. 1

MONDAY

This morning, we work at the Green House. After the last typhoon, all the plants have been taken out to rebuild the Green House. We weed and repot all the plants. Then, we put them back inside by kind.

(It was funny, because in the soil for repot, there were a lot of frogs so cute, and other little insects really not cute)

This afternoon, we help Sherin in the rice field. We weed a part of the field, to install rice shoots. We covered them with a tarpaulin to protect them, and fix it with stones.

(Here again, lot of baby frogs and tadpole)

After that, we go to the Tea House, to take bad grass and feed the water buffalo with it. We make chain to move some wood and protect it of rain.

TUESDAY

Today, we have to remove stems of a lot of mandarin. They will be used to make some jars that the costumers will do themselves at the D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself).

(It’s an easy job and we are protected from the rain, so it’s a nice day)

At the end of the day, there is no more mandarin and we weed the flower boxes.

WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY

Those two days, we have to dig up a looooot of yellow ginger. First, we weed bad grass and the ginger leaves then we dig up the roots. Finally we take off a bit of mud, before send them to the kitchen where it will be clean.

(After two days cleaning ginger, we dream ginger at night … o.o)

FRIDAY

Today, it’s a rainy day so we work inside. Joe teaches us to use the chip machine. The wood chips will be used to make several things like loam…
We only have to put wood inside and she crushes it. We need masks because the exhaust pipe smells bad, and ears protection for the noise made by the machine

(It makes a very lot of noise, and we can’t speak to each other so it’s a long day)

SATURDAY & SUNDAY

\o\ \o/  Days off !!! Yeah !!!  \o/ /o/

MONDAY & TUESDAY

After the harvest of ginger, the field is upside down so it must be rearranged.
We take our spade and our rake. After the machine did her job (return the land) we will reform the mounds of ground, leaving aisles to let the excess of water run out of the field.

(Certainly the most physical we got to do at the farm, only the beginning of the week and already so tired… ^.^

to be continued ... ;)
