Trip to the Farm's Winery

Hi guys

Today we were so lucky to get picked up by Grandpa here at the farm. We were on the way back from working with the kids to have lunch. He waved us into his car and asked us to join him.

There were huge problems with understanding each other, but it was clear that we were going with him. He took us to the winery that is attached to the farm, but further up in the mountains. It is within walking distance though it is not a place you wish to walk everyday especially not in this heat! Anywho… We got to the winery and it is really beautiful up there! I believe that it is some of the newest parts of the farm. When we got inside we were offered tastes of red wine, white wine, dessert wine and also two different kind of rice wine with 38% and 52% of alcohol!! Everything was really good and it is so cool to know that it is all homemade at the farm. A little dizzy though, from all the tasting :D

The nice man was serving us wine
These are the wines we tasted :)

The tangerine cocktail :)
Grandpa was even kind enough to invite us to have lunch with him at the restaurant at the winery. The place is really beautiful and can you imagine that the view is even prettier up there? I thought it could not be any better. We were served a really delicious pumpkin soup and I had chicken while Kasia had some tortilla with fries. Furthermore we were served tangerine cocktail. It was really some of the best I have ever tasted! Really! In the end we got two glasses of their homemade Taiwan beer. It tasted really good but also very different from any european beer. It not as bitter and tastes more watery, but it is still 5% alcohol!

Pumpkin soup
Chicken! YUM!

The homemade beer :)
Since all this made us somewhat sleepy it was perfect that the summercamp kids had a nap, because then we could also have a nap :D

I would recommend everyone to check out the winery both for the food experience and drinking experience. I think I will bring my parents some rice wine :)

You can check it out here: Cang Jiu Winery
With love, Christina
