In preparation for the annual Summer Camp, I visited Daxi Fish Port in mid-July with the rest of the summer camp staff (Tina, Hunter, and Ta). We scouted the area to plan a route for the next visit.

The fish port can get quite busy in the afternoon, especially on weekends when locals make a trip to buy some seafood. The outdoor fish market is dangerously close to the sea, with no railing to prevent visitors from a steep fall into the water. However, it does provide a very authentic fish market experience --be careful of vendors manoeuvring around, as they tend to be in a hurry.
If you're looking for a safer experience that more resembles the seafood section of a grocery store, you can visit the newly opened indoor complex where they also sell freshly caught fish and seafood.
