Arriving in Taiwan

Everything in Taiwan is so different than Brazil! It´s a completely different culture! The food tastes so new for me, that even I can´t explain! Just the traffic is the same, but there are a lot of motorcycles here.. It´s so funny! Even the elderly has motorcycle!

But, people here, especially in the farm, are so receptive that makes easier all the difference!

Last week, I worked with kids here. Many schools come to the farm, to make a summer camp.

The farm is divided in 15 areas: DIY Activity Center, Water Buffalo Barn, Kilning Area, Rice Culture Experimental Area, Domesticated Animal Area, Farm Sport Area, Range Chicken Area, Cang Jiu Winery, Sunrise Watching Platform, Vegetable Garden, Riverside Activity Center and  4 differents areas for Accommodation.

About 125 children of `Kid Castle´ enjoyed the farm for 3 days.

In the first day, the staff of the farm explained the farm and the schedule for the kids. After this, we went to the chicken house. The kids took some eggs and chickens.
Later, we went to the Rice Culture Experimental Area. It is so nice learn how to plant at the rice paddy, sun-dry the grains and remove husk in a traditional Chinese farming method. Harvesting rice at the paddy is something great to learn about, because it is not learned anywhere else but only in a farm.

After lunch, they painted t-shirts and in the final of the day, we went to the forest, to see nocturnal animals and insects! It was a little scary.. But I think, that it was just for me, because the children was so excited!

In the second day of the summer camp, we went to the forest, to catch butterflies!! And in the road, the guide was explaining everything about the life farm and the insects for us.

In the evening, the kids made a  picture using things of nature. And after, we had a party!

In the last day, they visited the rest of the farm and then, they went home.

Here, they experienced a real life farm.. These kinds of experiences could not be attained from books! :)
The farm´s intention is teach the importance of the nature in our lives, but in a funny and different way!
