Traveling in Asia is a special experience. With their own products produced at the farm and other ingredients from its local area guests can enjoy three traditionally prepared meals a day, at the buffet. For the BBQ which takes place every night, there is a variety of fresh meat and vegetables directly produced on the farm, including the farms organically raised chicken.
Besides its agricultural aspects the farm has other great qualities. Such it lies in a location ideal for sportive people. Here guests can go hiking, river walking or mountain biking through the mountains of Toucheng Leisure Farm where it is guaranteed to see a variety of exotic animals and insects. Big and colorful spiders, and a diversity of caterpillars and birds are living in these woods and can be explored.
Running in the early morning to the Buddhist temple where one can relish a great sight of the Pacific Ocean and Turtle Island is the perfect start in the day. It is in fact pure relaxation and gratification to stretch and do some exercises while being surrounded by the mountains and the ocean. As Toucheng is at the eastside of Taiwan the Temple patio is just right for watching the sunrise; if one gets up early at 5, which is unsurprisingly worth it.
Since Toucheng Leisure Farm is only a few kilometers away from the Pacific Ocean, other activities become available to the visitor. There are many activities to join in, and benefit from some quality time at the beach. Anything from snorkeling, surfing, diving and paragliding to beach volleyball and boat trips to Turtle Island to watch dolphins and Wales is presented. In case of surfing, paragliding and diving many cheap courses are offered, for starters and experienced tourists. Since the prices are relatively cheap, it is always worth to try out some of these activities.
At the Waiao Beach, it is also possible to take a break for a moment and enjoy some Starbucks-like coffee and snack at Café Mr. Brown. From this Cafe a great sight on the ocean is presented, while one can have access to a free Wi-Fi-connection. Moreover, later in the day one can look for a local restaurant, with great Taiwanese seafood.
Back at the Toucheng Leisure Farm, it is time for a tasty BBQ, where each guest can grill their own meat and vegetables. Later at night, activities such as Lanterns flying or bamboo craft (making little figures out of wood) can be joined. However, one can also take off and enjoy the sounds cape of the forest and watch fireflies in the dark.
It is worth to mention, that at anytime, one is in contact with other Taiwanese, Chinese or other people with a different cultural background. The interaction becomes to feel increasingly natural as one notices that we are all, despite our different appearances, not that different from each other at all.
All in all, Toucheng Leisure Farm inhibits many touristic offers for all people of all ages, it can be a holiday of relaxation and recovering from ones stressful and busy life, but it can also be accommodate very active guests and be a good and inexpensive base for backpackers.
