Wu-Lao-Keng Mountain Stream

Time flies like an arrow and i am leaving in 5 weeks time.

This time we were going to Wu-Lao-Keng Mountain Stream Scenic Area. Wu Lao Mountain Stream is located on the border of Suao Village and Dongshan Village and it is formed by the eastern and western streams flowing into each one. The stream valley is about 24 kilometers long. In regards to the origin of the name Wu Lao Mountain Stream there are two legends. One says that the early inhabitants of the area were aboriginals by the name of Chi Wu Lao She, thus giving it the name. The other says that during the Japanese occupation there was a person who discovered gold in the stream bed and it attracted a lot of people to the stream valley to search for gold. However, none of them were successful. The gold miners who were now penniless when they left gave this place the name Wu Lao Mountain Stream in anger (it means the stream valley without and wealth).

My colleague was one of the volunteer in Project Wet and she was awarded a certificate by Project Wet Taiwan. Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) is an award-winning, nonprofit water education program and publisher. The program facilitates and promotes awareness, appreciation, knowledge, and stewardship of water resources through the dissemination of classroom-ready teaching aids and the establishment of internationally sponsored Project WET programs. The Water Education Foundation is the California Coordinator for Project WET.

This stinky toufu is really delicious...I has tried so many stinky toufu in other places, but it all comes out very oily and taste burnt. It located at Yilan City, Dong Men Night Market, right next to Dou Steak Restaurant.

We went to prawn fishing after dinner, and we got 13 of prawns for our supper!
