Luodong Night Market

Explore Asia without going to any Night Market? It's almost a sin.
Visit at this place should be the first position on everyone's 'To Do' list
while staying in any Asian country.

It's so unbelievably characteristic for this culture!
At the same time - perfect opportunity to taste local cuisine.

What I like the most about Night Markets is the amount of people wandering around there. They're all walking arm in arm, bumping into each other, having loud conversations.
The whole place is so lively!
The narrow streets are full of Asians looking for cheap clothes, phone accessories, jewellery, electronic devices but mostly - for traditional Taiwanese food.

fried(?) sea snail shells

There're so many customers coming to every night market every night that there's no need to be worried about freshness of any products.
All stalls have to be frequently supplied in order to handle demand.

ice cream with crushed peanuts wrapped in a really thin pancake
- definitely yummy!!

Night Markets are actually only places I've noticed so far, where Taiwanese sweets are sold.
Typical shops, e.g. 7/11, offer Snickers, Dove, M&M's
but it's difficult to buy something traditional there.
Night Markets are full of stalls offering Taiwanese ice cream, cookies and unidentified but really tasty little balls made of cake(?).

really popular stall selling ice cream
- all people outside are standing in a line

interesting combination of Asian cuisine with Western culture
 - cookies shaped like SpongeBob characters

Night Markets are not supposed only to supply people with food, clothes etc.
They are often places where Asians meet their friends after tiring day at work.
Even I found something relaxing and fascinating in walking narrow,
crowdy streets not necessarily buying anything.
